Hi, I’m Fakharuddin Manik
I’m the founder and editor behind OfficePlantsHub, a website dedicated to helping people choose, grow, and care for office plants with confidence.
For more than five years, I’ve been growing and caring for plants as a personal passion. What started as a hobby gradually became a daily part of my life. I personally care for plants in my home, office, and garden, handling everything from selecting the right plants and repotting to watering, pruning, propagation, fertilizing, and solving common plant care problems.
While I’m not a professional horticulturist, my knowledge comes from years of hands-on experience, continuous learning, and researching trusted horticultural resources. Every plant I grow teaches me something new, and that practical experience shapes the content I publish on OfficePlantsHub.
Why office plants, specifically

I have always enjoyed growing different kinds of plants, but office plants became a special interest after seeing how even a single healthy plant could completely change the atmosphere of a workspace.
Unlike gardens or bright living rooms, offices often have limited natural light, constant air conditioning, irregular watering schedules, and busy routines that make plant care more challenging. Through my own experience caring for plants in office environments, I became interested in finding species that genuinely perform well under these conditions.
That curiosity eventually inspired me to build OfficePlantsHub, a resource dedicated entirely to office plants and practical plant care.
The gap I noticed
When I started looking for a single, well-organized place to learn about office plants (species picks, care routines, troubleshooting, and desk or workspace advice), I couldn’t find one. Some sites cover a narrow slice, like just care tips or just a “best of” list. Others write about houseplants in general, without addressing anything specific to a desk, a windowless conference room, or a low-light cubicle. Few treat office plants as a complete subject worth covering in full depth.
That’s the gap OfficePlantsHub is built to fill: a complete office plant guide, organized so you can go from “which plant should I get for my desk?” all the way to “why are my snake plant’s leaves turning yellow?” without leaving the site.
What you’ll find here
Right now, the site is organized into three main sections:
- Plant Guides: species profiles, plant types, and best office plants picks sorted by light, location, size, purpose, environment, and pet safety
- Plant Care: care fundamentals and species-by-species care routines covering watering, light, soil, and seasonal adjustments
- Plant Problems: species-specific troubleshooting for common issues like yellowing leaves, drooping, root rot, and pests
More sections are on the way, including office plant design ideas, honest buying guides, and practical plant care tools. They’ll go live once each one has enough useful content to stand on its own.
How the content here is put together
I believe trustworthy plant advice should be based on both practical experience and reliable research.
Every article published on OfficePlantsHub starts with careful research using established sources such as university extension programs, botanical gardens, scientific publications, the NASA Clean Air Study, and the ASPCA Plant Database where appropriate. The content is then reviewed, edited, and refined by me using insights from my own experience growing indoor, outdoor, office, and garden plants over the past five years.
I also use modern AI tools as part of my research and drafting workflow, but every article is reviewed for accuracy, clarity, and usefulness before publication. You can read exactly how this works on our Editorial Policy & Methodology page.
I don’t claim to know everything about plants. Instead, I believe in continuous learning, testing what works, sharing honest experiences, and updating content whenever better information becomes available.
How this site is funded
OfficePlantsHub is free to read. To keep it running, the site may display advertising, and some articles may contain affiliate links. If you buy a product through one of those links, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Advertising and affiliate relationships never decide what I recommend or how a plant is reviewed. You can learn more on our Affiliate Disclosure and Privacy Policy pages.
Where this is headed
OfficePlantsHub is still growing. New species profiles, care guides, and troubleshooting articles are added on a regular schedule, and older articles get revisited as better information becomes available. The goal is simple: to become the most complete and useful place online to research office plants.
